You can protect your own financial interest by adding under-insured motorists coverage to your insurance plan. If the accident is not your fault, this insurance will pay any part of your bills that exceed the other driver's policy coverage. Even if the other driver doesn't have insurance at all, under-insured motorist policies will cover all the incurred expenses. Without under-insured motorist coverage, you may end up paying for injuries and damages that weren't your fault. Consult an insurance agent in your area for more information.
