Rotating tires

To get the most miles out of your tires, you should rotate them every five to ten thousand miles. This ensures equal wear of the tires, since the front tires wear differently and at a different rate than the rear tires. The most common pattern of tire rotation works like this-- the rear wheels are moved to the front staying left to left and right to right. The front wheels, however, are switched left to right before being mounted on the rear axle. This is the common pattern, but check your owner's manual for the pattern they recommend. After rotation, check for proper tire pressure. Remember, tire rotation is essential for the tread to wear evenly on all four tires.
