LITTLE ROCK, AR – Two freshman baseball players for the University of Arkansas were arrested Sunday, accused of trying to steal beer and deli items from a Fayetteville Walmart.

Colin Poche and Adam Meyer, age 19, were booked into the Washington County jail and charged with shoplifting, a misdemeanor.

According to the report, a loss prevention officer at the store tells police that Poche placed two cases of beer in a tote bag in a shopping cart while Meyer acted as a “lookout.” The report also says the pair had some items from the deli, from which they removed and threw away the labels.

According to loss prevention, both Meyer and Poche left the store without attempting to pay for the goods. Loss prevention confronted the men, recovered their stolen items, and contacted police.

Both are scheduled to appear in court the morning of March 1st. According to the Razorbacks website, the team is scheduled to be in Arizona for the Coca-Cola Classic at that time.
