Carlisle Police arrested Stanley Eugeene “Steene” Young, 37, of Carlisle, on one count of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree after a juvenile victim disclosed that Young had molested him.  Young, who has previously worked as a church youth minister, originally befriended the victim while assisting in the youth ministry at the Carlisle area church both attended.

“The victim alleged that Young had, on more than one occasion, engaged in activities that constitute sexual contact.  Under Arkansas law, sexual contact is any act of sexual gratification involving the touching, either directly or through the clothing, of the sex organs, buttocks or anus of a person or of the breast of a female,” said Carlisle Police Chief Eric Frank.  “In addition, the penalty of sexual assault is enhanced when the perpetrator is considered by law to be a professional in a position of trust or authority over a minor less than 18 years of age.”

Frank said that the investigation of the case is continuing, and that police are still interviewing youths who came into contact with Young.  He said that there was a strong possibility that Young would be charged with additional counts of sexual assault.

Young is currently free on bail, and is set to appear for plea and arraignment in Lonoke County Circuit Court.
