LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe says he plans to pardon seven people who were convicted of drug, trespass or battery charges.
Beebe's office said Friday that all seven people have paid their fines and completed jail time and parole-and-probationary requirements.
Beebe intends to pardon Calla Duvall of West Fork, Marjorie Hurley of Russellville, Terra McCabe-Wilburn of Bella Vista, Jimmy Ray Morris of Dover, Theresa Qualls of Little Rock, Shelia Simpson of Crossett and Corey Toney of Greenbrier.
Duvall was convicted of domestic battery. Hurley, McCabe-Wilbur, Morris, Simpson and Toney were convicted of drug charges. Qualls was convicted of criminal trespassing.
Beebe rejected another 26 clemency requests and didn't act on 23 others.
The public has 30 days to comment on the governor's pardon plans before they become official.
