Monday night, Southside Baptist Church in Heber Springs held a prayer meeting for rain.

About 30 people from at least three churches in Heber Springs showed up and spent about thirty minutes praying to God for rain.

They worry farmers and ranchers will suffer financially and higher prices for food because of the drought could hurt Cleburne County families and families across Arkansas.

Many church members also prayed for America, saying the sins of Americans caused God to make us go through the drought.

The pastor of the church said he has held prayer meetings before, and was happy with the response he got Monday night from the community.
