Jailer on leave after allegations of sex with inmate

HOT SPRINGS, AR - An adult detention jail deputy is on paid administrative leave pending an investigation into allegations of sexual activity with an female inmate.

According to the Garland County Sheriff's Office, the activity was not forced.

The deputy has been identified as Jason Carr. The inmate's name has not been released.

When the investigation is complete, a determination will be made about Carr's status with the department. A spokesman for the sheriff's office would not speculate as to what the punishment would be if the allegations are found to true.

It is not clear when the alleged activity took place or when Carr was put on leave.
