New shopping centers are popping up all over Little Rock, but shoppers everywhere want to know when will these stores finally be open.  Developers say, you might have to wait just a little bit longer.

"Shopper. Shopaholilc! Oh yeah!" Connie Jackson says while she laughs.

She isn't the only one. Stephanie Hall is ready to do some serious damage to her credit card too!

"I go out of town a lot, so I think it's great they're bringing new stores, I just wish they would hurry up," says Hall.

"We hear they're coming, but nothing is here yet."

"Coming soon tenants will include Wal-Mart, Edwin Watts Golf Stores, Maurice’s, we have several restaurants opening," says President of Clary Development Sean Glancy, developer of Shackleford Crossing. Glancy adds, “I believe the reason we had a little bit of a slowdown, we had to relocate the Comcast facility, that took a little longer than anticipated, so that also threw the Wal-Mart schedule off.”

Glancy tells us he hopes to close with Wal-Mart in June.

“We actually already have quite a few tenants signed, it's just some of them have delayed their construction until we knew when the Wal-Mart timing was,” says Glancy.

But Shackleford Crossing isn't the only one with empty store fronts; The Promenade at Chenal is also behind schedule. General Manager Ken Huge told FOX16 off camera, the economy and weather are factors in the delay. He adds it will hopefully be open later this year.

"It's laid out much like the shopping center in Branson, which I just love, but I just hate it's so empty," says Jackson says.

Another thing Jackson says she'd like to see, "Macy's! Bring me Macy's!" She adds, “And I'm thinking with this economic base that we have here, we should be able to support shops like Macy's."

But for now, Jackson will have to keep her fingers crossed for big red Macy's letters to appear on one of these buildings.

Another thing Glancy mentioned, Shackleford Crossing should be up to about 80 percent occupancy by next spring.
