Little Rock is getting some of the Oscar buzz. The Capitol City has been selected as one of only 52 nationwide sanctioned Oscar night watch parties.
"It's a huge honor," says Christopher Crane. "In conjunction with the Oscar awards, we are one of 50 states commissioned to have a sanctioned event.
According to Markey Ford of the
Wolfe Street Foundation, there will be red carpet interviews and celebrities will be in Little Rock as well.
Organizers are hoping 500 or more will walk the red carpet March 7th. They hope to raise $100,000 for the Wolfe Street Foundation. "This is the primary fundraiser for the Wolfe Street Foundation," says Ford. "The Wolfe Street Foundation is in its 28th year and serves families and recovering alcoholics.
Event organizers hope the buzz surrounding this year's Oscar's will help generate excitement and cash for their cause.
The Oscar's are March 7th. Tickets to Oscar Night at the Peabody are $150 each. To purchase one call 501-372-5662 or visit
