Mt. Riante fire up to 125 acres, residents on standby for evacuation

HOT SPRINGS, AR – Residents on Mt. Riante are on standby for evacuation due to a fire in the area. The Arkansas Forestry Commission says the fire, which has been active since Saturday, has burned an estimated 125 acres.

AFC has 3 bulldozers and 2 single engine tankers fighting the fire. Multiple volunteer firefighters are on scene as well.

Mt. Riante is located south of Hot Springs, near Highway 7.

AFC says the fire started on Saturday and is burning in a heavily wooded area.
