BAUXITE, AR – A woman who hit and killed another driver on West Sardis Road Wednesday will be charged with negligent homicide and DWI drugs, according to the Saline County Sheriff’s Office.
In the accident report, 37-year-old Cathy Yarberry tells a deputy that “she went to sleep while driving her vehicle.” According to the accident report, Yarberry was driving east on Sardis Road when she crossed into oncoming traffic and hit a car being driven by 76-year-old Janice Carrington.
Carrington died in the crash. Two others riding in Carrington’s car were also injured. One sustained head and internal injuries, the other had a laceration to his heart and a bruised liver. The report says Yarberry only received minor injuries.
The accident happened just west of Bland Sardis Loop.
