CABOT, AR - Right now, a faculty member at Cabot Junior High School-North is under investigation by the district and police.

Tuesday, authorities say they got a report of an inappropriate relationship between a teacher and student.

School leaders did not want to go on camera for an interview, but confirm they are working with police to resolve the issue.

Fox 16 News did ask whether the employee is on paid or unpaid leave, but leaders would not respond.

In an email, Superintendent Tony Thurman said, “Due to student and personnel privacy policies, the district is legally unable to release any detailed information regarding the faculty member involved or details of the allegation at this time.”

Meanwhile, CJHS-North parents are watching the investigation closely.

“I hope it is not true, because I would hate to think we have this going on. It’s going on everywhere, but I would hate to think it is going on in the small town we’ve got,” said parent Trisha Hyche.

No one has been arrested.
