Sheriff’s Department investigating suicide turned into theft

LITTLE ROCK, AR – The White County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a case where it appears a man killed himself and then later had his truck stolen.

Deputies found Efron Belfred lying on Safely Road, near Judsonia, dead from an apparent gunshot to the chest. Belfred’s truck was later found in Bald Knob.

Detectives say several suspects found Belfred dead in his truck alongside the road. The suspects told detectives they took Belfred out of the vehicle and took his truck and gun.

Belfred did leave behind a suicide note.

Charges are pending.
