LITTLE ROCK, AR - The eastbound lanes of I-30 reopened around 6pm after being closed down near Malvern for about 4 hours on Friday due to a crash.

According to the Arkansas State Police, a large pickup towing a trailer merged into traffic after stopping along the highway on the shoulder. As he merged, his trailer was hit by an 18-wheeler, near mile marker 91. The impact caused the pickup and trailer to be pushed along the guardrail of an overpass, then off the roadway, falling about 40-feet into an embankment below the bridge.

The driver of the pickup truck, William Almond of Hot Springs, was pinned in the wreckage. He was eventually extracted and flown to a hospital in Little Rock, current condition unknown.
