Update: Pine Bluff man beaten to death

Russell Grinstead, 52, was beaten by a man and left for dead. It happened around 8:00 pm Monday night on Orchid Street in Pine Bluff. He was found by an officer on a routine patrol. Someone told the officer that Grinstead had been beaten. The officer found Grinstead lying in the front yard unconscious. 

He was taken to a local hospital and is being treated for severe trauma to his head and neck.  Grinstead was pronounced dead at 7:30pm Tuesday night.

Detectives received information that Wilson was hiding in a residence on Lily Cove in Pine Bluff. Detectives went to the residence and Wilson was taken into custody without incident.

Michael “Chad” Wilson was arrested and charged with manslaughter and transported to the Dub Brassell Detention Center where he is being helod on a $25,000 bond.

It is believed that the two men had an ongoing disagreement that escalated into violence.
