HOT SPRINGS, Ark. (AP) - Crews have contained a wildfire on Tower Mountain at Hot Springs National Park.

Arkansas Forestry Commission spokeswoman Sheila Doughty said Thursday no one was hurt and no property was damaged in the blaze, which burned about 1.5 acres near the historic Arlington Hotel. A road leads to the top of the mountain, where visitors can ride an elevator to the top of a tower that offers views of the city and the surrounding Ouachita Mountains.

Doughty says commission crews also were working to contain fires in Benton, Cleveland, Logan, Perry and Saline counties, but none were significant and no homes were threatened.

She says lightning from passing thunderstorms may have caused some of the fires.
