84-year-old man dies in house fire

GURDON, AR -An 84-year-old man was found dead when firefighters extinguished a fire at his home in Gurdon Monday night.

Elmer Wells was alone in his house at 2596 Highway 53 at the time of the blaze.

Fire crews from Hollywood, Okolona and Gurdon were called to his house just before 7pm. When the departments arrived they found intense fire coming from the home.

Once the fire was out Wells was found.

The case is being investigated by the Clark County Sheriff's Office and the Arkansas State Police.

Foul play is not suspected.
