CONWAY, AR – Two men are in jail awaiting charges after allegedly robbing a female student on the University of Central Arkansas campus in Conway Monday morning.

University Police say the woman was held up at gunpoint in the parking lot of the Torreyson Apartments. Information from the victim and a witness led police to an off-campus home on the 400 block of South Ash.

Police say 5 people were taken into custody at the house. Police say when they arrived the first suspect came out of the home. Two more suspects came out of the house when the SWAT team arrived. The rest were taken into custody when police raided the house.

According to police, a search of the home yielded a handgun that was similar to the one used in the robbery and all of the victim’s property that was stolen in the robbery.

None of the 5 suspects are students. Two men, Howard Famer, 20 of Little Rock, and Edwin Turner, 20 of Conway, were taken to the Faulkner County Jail. The others were released pending further investigation.

University Police say the robbery happened around 9:30am. An alert about the robbery and the suspect’s description was sent out by UCA to the campus community at 10:01am, and another one at 11:41am to say the suspects were in custody.
