LITTLE ROCK, AR – The Drew County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a child was struck by lightning Tuesday night during the storm.

Dispatchers said the child was expected to be ok. Drew County also reported that a transformer blew up and started a grass fire.

Storms cause by a cold front moving through the state left thousands without power. As of 10:30pm, Entergy was reporting nearly 13,000 customers without power. First Electric Cooperative has around 900 customers without power.

Elsewhere in central Arkansas, Jefferson County said there was a little bit of flooding in Watson Chapel, and some trees down in Sulphur Spring and Redfield. There were no confirmed tornadoes in the area.
