With the summer season finally here, many of you are probably grilling many of your meals. But what if you don't want to stand outside in the heat? Jeremy baker puts one product to the test that will keep the heat away from you, and make cooking eggs that much easier.

Some of our deal or duds have just been bad eggs but now we are going to test the Egg Genie.

Commercial says: "Egg Genie steam cooks your eggs to perfect in minutes."

For our deal or duds we love to get testers and this week it's Becca. Jeremy asks: “Now Becca you're a nurse, how do you think the Egg Genie would simplify your life?” Becca says: “Well I'm always on the go and it says it makes the perfect egg every time so we'll see!"

First up, the instructions and unpacking the box. We decided to cook three hard boiled eggs first. We filled up the cup to the proper line and poured it into the pan. Then, as directed, poked a hole in the eggs using the Egg Genie pin, lined up the eggs, put on the lid, and plugged it in.

While Becca is kept an eye on the Egg Genie, Jeremy prepared a few eggs for poaching using the poaching tray.

The sign of the steam showed us the Egg Genie was working. When all the water evaporated it was done.

Time to rinse and peel. "Okay, so the hard boiled eggs are done, let's cut 'em open to see how the egg genie did. Okay!"

After cutting one in half it looked done, but what about the taste?

Poached eggs were next on the list. We followed the same steps with the water, placed the poaching tray inside, and within minutes they were done, and didn't look that bad.

Commercial says: "Egg Genie also comes with its own steamer tray, add carrots and broccoli, and egg genie makes an excellent veggie steamer too!"

For some reason our Egg Genie didn't come with a steamer, but we tried it anyway, by placing the vegetables around the holes. Some fell in, but eventually they were steamed, and ready to eat.

Jeremy says: "Ok Becca we've got perfect hard boiled eggs, poached eggs, and even steamed veggies. Would you say the Egg Genie is a deal or a dud?” Becca says: “Well it lived up to all its promises so I'd say it's a deal."

If you think the Egg Genie will make magic for you, you can order it online for $19.95 plus shipping, or you can get it at Bed Bath and Beyond for the same price, and avoid the shipping.
