Emergency teams pulled the body of Theodus Woods, 52, out of the Arkansas River Saturday night two hours after he disappeared under the water.

Woods jumped off of a party barge around 5:30 near the Little Rock Airport and never came back up.  One hour into the search, it turned into a recovery effort.

Behind trees on airport property, where our cameras can't go, recovery teams from Little Rock, North Little Rock and Pulaski County use sonar and dredging equipment to find the body.

Woods dove off of a party barge and never came back up.

"I don't know if they were being careless, but it's still dangerous on the river.  There's all kinds of obstacles under the water especially if you're skiing or diving off the boat.  The river changes every day and it's still swift," says Captain Randy Hickmon with the Little Rock Fire Department.

It's a busy day for emergency crews.  Ten minutes before this call, they had another call on the river.  It can be tough in the heat.  "It's something that we're watching real close.  Any time there's a structure fire, the heat takes a toll quickly and we can only go in ten or 15 minutes at a time," says Hickmon.
