LITTLE ROCK, AR – FEMA estimates the Christmas Day Storm created 44 million pounds of debris in Little Rock. The city expects to be able to remove all of it by sometime in July.
That is according to City Manager Bruce Moore, who gave a presentation about the effects of the storm and the city’s response to the Board of Director’s meeting Tuesday night.
Other notes from the presentation:
- The city has received 1412 calls for service from the storm. The 311 line will be open from 9am-5pm 7 days a week until the number of calls falls. You can also submit a request online at www.littlerock.org
- So far, Public Works employees have worked 3,032 regular hours and 4,481 overtime hours. On Sunday, crews went from working 12-hour shifts to 10-hour shifts.
- Public Works has two crews working full-time patching potholes.
- Since Christmas, Public Works has spent $295,025 on the storm.
- FEMA will determine if the city qualifies for Presidential Disaster Declaration in 7-10 days.
