Places like El Dorado have seen rain for the past 24 hours.  The wind has died down considerably. FOX16 drove throughout the southern half of the state to see Gustav's effects on southern Arkansas. What's left of Gustav is here in Arkansas, churning rain and light winds. Meanwhile Louisiana evacuees are already calling home.

"I'm trying to see how much damage is done and when we can go back to school," says Colin Campo.

They want to get back as quick as possible, but for now they are staying put. Families are just trying to make the best of the situation.

By midday Tuesday the effects of the remnants of Gustav could be felt in Arkadelphia too.  Further south Gustav is causing more problems.   The ground is soaked and the wind has toplled trees and knocked out electricity.

Entergy power crews are repairing lines in Dallas County. One worker was already quickly repairing a line by mid-afternoon. Power outages have been sporadic and crews have, for the most part, been able to restore service quickly for customers.

Power outages are also reported in Union County.

FOX16 has been in contact with every county in the flood watch area all day. No reports of flooding yet.
