Hope High School Locked down as Police Search for Man with Gun
LITTLE ROCK, AR - Hope High School (Hempstead County) was put on lockdown for about an hour Tuesday morning due to a student’s report of a man with a gun on the campus.
Police say the suspect is not a student. He is described as being between 5’8” and 6’0” tall and 175 pounds. He was wearing a blue jacket and had braids.
The school district says the lockdown started around 10:45am while police searched the surrounding area. Afterward the school lifted the lockdown and classes resumed. However, many parents are picking up their students and taking them home for the day.
