Judge orders suspect in firefighter death to undergo mental evaluation

PULASKI COUNTY, AR – A Pulaski County Judge has ordered a suspect in the death of a firefighter to undergo a mental evaluation.

Bryce Allen has been ordered by Judge Barry Sims to under go a mental evaluation after his first appearance in Pulaski County Circuit Court. Allen was arrested on March 19 after police say he drove a vehicle into emergency workers who were helping his mother after she had an accident.

Jacksonville Firefighter Captain Donald Jones died from his injuries while firefighter Jason Bowmaster and police officer Daniel Dimatteo recovered from theirs.

Allen’s next court date is July 30th.
