LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Salvation Army's Central Area Command is having to turn down donations due to a lack of affordable space.

The nonprofit's Metro Thrift Store closed last year because the group couldn't afford the lease on its old warehouse.

Now, it's getting by with limited space, but that means turning away large donations like furniture.

"It continues to be a problem," says Salvation Army Area Commander Major Alan Hill. "We do need those gifts, and we use those to help families."

Salvation Army is looking for a space that is 15,000-30,000 square feet with loading docks and parking, and would also like a storefront option.

While they're hoping someone might donate the property, they're also looking to lease.

If you have property you think the Salvation Army might be interested in, contact Major Alan Hill at (501) 374-9296.
