Man dies after seizure at Pulaski Co jail
LITTLE ROCK, AR - A man being booked into the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility had a seizure and died early Saturday morning.
The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office says 39-year-old Michael Hammond was in a holding cell in the intake section of the PCRDF completing his book-in process when he began having seizures around 3am. He was taken to UAMS where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities are investigating the death but the cause of the seizures is not known.
Hammond had been arrested for theft by receiving, fleeing, DWI and possession of a firearm.
