Police: Man dead after motorcycle accident

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – Police are investigating a late night motorcycle accident that left one man dead.

According to reports, around 11:30 pm on December 10, North Little Rock Police Officers responded to a call near the area of Washington and Main Street. When they arrived, police spoke to the victim, 56-year-old Roger Rayfus, who stated that he was sleeping under the Main Street Bridge when a motorcycle hit him. Rayfus told police that the driver lying unresponsive on the sidewalk near the Main Street Bridge.

Police say the driver of the motorcycle was traveling north across the Main Street Bridge when his motorcycle struck the concrete wall and caused him to go over the bridge, crashing underneath it. The driver, later identified as 45-year-old Michael Ross of North Little Rock, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rayfus was transported to UAMS for his injuries which did not appear to be life threatening.
