PINE BLUFF, AR -- The SandMaster 20 is the latest invention in protecting your property from rising waters.
It's the brainchild of Joe Hartley.
"It will literally in seven days, twenty-four hours a day, put out 100,00 sand bags," said Hartley.
Hartley said it hurt him to see folks take hours digging, bagging, and stacking as water levels kept creeping up. That's why he created this invention to make sand bagging quicker.
"The people don't get fatigued because they're not dealing with full sandbags. You're only dealing with an empty two ounce sand bag," said Hartley.
First, you latch the SandMaster onto the grooves of a tractor. Then you take a Speed Loader, armed with twenty sandbags, and place them onto the SandMaster. The truck operator dumps sand into the bags. Seconds later, a simple move ties the bags up.
"The machine never gets tired," said Hartley.
Gwen Brittain first saw a video of the SandMaster back in March. Weeks later, floods took over Arkansas.
Now she hopes to convince city, county, and state leaders to invest in one.
"We have great literature and videos but to come and see a demonstration and to see the efficiency was important," said Gwen Brittain.
