LITTLE ROCK, AR - This weekend, shoe designer Steve Madden stopped by Dillard's at Park Plaza to sign autographs and meet fans.
"When I design shoes, sometimes you don't have a face and it's good to see them wearing them and it's fun and I love it, so it lets you know it's more than just the money, you know, I love to see them wear it. It's exciting," says Madden.
Two of his biggest fans found us before we even walked into the store.
"I needed some nude shoes, so I decided to buy some today so I could have him sign them," says Casey Boatner.
Casey and Karen Boatner turned the celebrity meet and greet into a mother/daughter shopping weekend.
"It's great. It's always nice. She's working and in school, so it's nice when she gets to come home, so it's been a fun day. We've been in line a long time, but it's been a lot of fun," says Karen Boatner.
As hundreds lined up to meet Madden, many also showed-up to catch a glimpse of the Style Network's Julissa Bermudez.
But, Casey and Karen definitely showed up for the shoes, and to check out the new styles.
"The shoes they have like a wedge, but they're like indented in the back. They're really neat," said Casey Boatner.
"Yeah, they don't have like a heel on the back of them," Karen Boatner.
Madden appreciates knowing people in Little Rock love his shoes.
"I've been here once before. It's a nice city. I love the South," says Madden.
Madden started coming up with shoe designs in 1990 and started his company with just $1,100 in his bank account.
