NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – Police have identified a suspect in the shooting death of Michael James, Jr., who died on Independence Day.

The suspect, 19-year-old Demond Montgomery, is wanted for capital murder, aggravated robbery, and possession of a firearm by certain persons.

Police responded the morning of the 4th to the Motel 6 on West 29th Street to find James shot in the lobby. James was taken to UAMS where he later died.

Police say Montgomery’s last known addresses are 616 West 47th Street and 5820 Sornora, both in North Little Rock. He is described at being 5’6” tall and 140 pounds. He has “501 Savage” tattooed on his left forearm, “Demond” tattooed on his right hand, and “North Side” on his right hand. Police say Montgomery has a known history of violence and is known to carry a gun at all times.

Anyone who knows of Montgomery’s whereabouts is asked to call police.
