Engineers from Toyota are at a North Little Rock dealership to fix a problem with a Toyota. The Camry Hybrid is not on the recall list-but the owner says it had the same problem as those cars on it-unintended acceleration.
“I was terrified, nothing I could do to stop," Susie Goodson said. Goodson says while pulling her 2009 Camry Hybrid into a parking lot at work, it started to accelerate with her foot on the brake.
Goodson had the car towed to North Point Toyota for repairs and an engineer from Toyota is at the dealership to figure out what's wrong. The Goodson’s car is not on the recall list and her husband and attorney are here for answers.
"There's clearly a problem that Toyota has not yet accounted for as you said, its not on the recall list-thats what we are in the process of trying to figure out and fix it," attorney Clarke Tucker said.
Tucker tells FOX16 the engineer took photos of the Camry and ran a computer test on the car, however the data is being taken back to Toyota headquarters to be analyzed before an answer is given.
Toyota has recalled more than eight million cars after complaints about accelerator pedals sticking problems with brakes and other systems. The government has received complaints of 34 deaths linked to sudden acceleration of Toyota vehicles since 2000.
