UPDATE: Police arrest suspect, identify victim in connection to NLR homicide

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR – Police have arrested a suspect and identified the victim in connection to a North Little Rock homicide.

According to reports, around 6:15 pm on October 10, officials from the North Little Rock Police Department responded to calls about a shooting at 701 W. 18th Street. When they arrived, police found a man suffering from several gunshot wounds. The victim, 20-year-old Andre Deshawn Bell, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Around 8:20 pm, police arrested 22-year-old Antwan Kemp in connection to the shooting. Police say Kemp admitted to being in a “verbal altercation” with and firing multiple times at Bell.

Kemp was charged with first degree murder along with possession of firearms and is being held at the Pulaski County Regional Intake Center on no bond.

The investigation is ongoing.
