Police looking for burglars who broke into Cabot High

Police are looking for burglars who stole money from several buildings at a high school in Cabot.

“It’s just a bad feeling, it makes you sick to your stomach," Athletic Director Johnny White said.

That's the feeling White got Wednesday morning when he came to work and found things missing from his office in the field house. "They took my computer. I had a cordless drill, they took that."

Burglars also got away with cash after breaking into the safe. "They had a key to get inside these buildings and these doors. They knew where most of the stuff that was valuable was," White said.

Police say the criminals also stole money from the cafeteria and the ROTC building.

"When you're talking about property and money being taken from a school district, we take special interest in it," Sgt. Brent Lucas says.

Another target was the gym. "They took a couple of camera's, video cameras that we use. This was locked, had a little lock on it, it’s a fairly old system, still secure. Tried to take it out, interrupted I suppose. They knew they had an idea. They've either worked for us at some point or another."

The crooks broke into four buildings. There are cameras on campus but there is no surveillance video of the incident. If you know anything about the break-in please call Cabot police at 501-843-6166.
