LITTLE ROCK, AR – A tree trimmer in Little Rock died Wednesday afternoon when a branch he was cutting fell onto an 8,000 volt power line.

The man has been identified as 27-year-old Filberto Martinez Pita. He worked for Hernandez Tree Service.

The Little Rock Fire Department says the accident happened around 1pm near the intersection of 10th and Maple. The man was about 30 feet up the tree and supported by a safety harness. Rescue crews retrieved the body and turned it over to the coroner’s office.
