Federal agents charged a Pine Bluff doctor with giving out an unapproved contraceptive device. Agents with the Food and Drug Administration raided the office of Doctor Kelly Shrum at the Arkansas Center for Women.

During the investigation they found an intrauterine device called Mirena.  This specific version of Mirena has not been approved in the United States. Agents believe Shrum gave Mirena to some of his patients.

They're asking anybody who received an IUD from doctor Shrum to call the FDA at 913-384-7429. They are also advised to consult their Primary Care Physician or the Jefferson County Health Unit at 870-535-2142.
