Boston, MA (Sports Network) - New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski underwent successful surgery to repair a broken left forearm.

The Boston Herald reported the news on Monday, less than 24 hours after the third-year pro from Arizona posted seven receptions for 137 yards and two touchdowns as the Pats blew out the Indianapolis Colts 59-24.

Team physician Dr. Thomas Gill performed the procedure at Massachusetts General Hospital, according to a source quoted by the paper, in which a small plate was inserted into the affected area.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reported late Sunday that Gronkowski will be sidelined between 4-to-6 weeks.
