JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas State will take a four-game winning streak into the opening night of Sun Belt Conference play.

The Red Wolves are 4-1 entering Thursday night's game at Florida International. FIU has a 1-2 record.

This season's start is Arkansas State's best since 2008-09, when it won six of its first seven games on the way to a 13-17 record. That was Coach John Brady's first year at Arkansas State after moving from LSU.

Since 2001, Arkansas State is 9-2 in conference openers. It defeated Louisiana-Monroe last year on a last-second 3-point play by Marcus Hooten.
